The Back Story
We always planned on having a big wedding, but a pandemic had other plans for us. We wouldn't let our love wait, so we married on the Summer Solstice of June 2020 in the backyard of Michael's grandmother's house, which we had just purchased and spent all of lockdown renovating. We had only our closest circle with us to witness, and planted a weeping willow tree in our new backyard as part of our ceremony. And in the fashion of 2020 social distanced celebrations, many of you drove by our house with balloons, bubbles, bottles to pop, and words of congratulations to fill our hearts.
Four years and a child later, it's finally our time to celebrate with all of our loved ones! We're finally having the big party we always wanted, and we're calling it our Redemption Reception. But this isn't just a reception--we're also having a Vow Renewal ceremony, complete with the wedding party we did not have standing next to us on our wedding day in 2020. Although we are already married, we want this to feel like the big wedding day we never got to have.
So please join us to celebrate our love and the little family we have grown since! Dress in your Summer Solstice best--we'll provide the wildflowers when you get there. We look forward to hugging and dancing with you!
